MICK'S ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE - AUGUST 2014
Hardly done in good grace but Kevin Keegan, Norman Hunter & Jack Channon won't be too happy about it either. Thanks to Mick Quinn & the Two Year Old Handicapper Matthew Tester for making our day.
MICK & PHIL - THE CHANNON COMPETITIVE SPIRIT
A Channon Family get-together involves the obligatory kickabout which allows Phil Channon to show his prowess between the sticks as he and his elder brother goad Mick's Grandson/Centre-Forward Archie.
THE TEAM - SEPTEMBER 2009
Late summer 2009. A successful season and a fond farewell to Alice Haynes who was all set to leave for Australia where she spent a year with our former Assistant Mark Wallace. She's back now and rode her first winner for new boss David Simcock in January 2011
OWNER JOHN WEBSTER FALLS FLAT ON HIS FACE
A Testimonial for David Hughes gifts the owner of Archers Road, Samitar and Ollie Olga and Southampton fanatic John Webster the opportunity to rub shoulders with his heroes on the field with disastrous results. Michael Jnr had the great pleasure of providing him with the opportunity.
ARCHERS ROAD & THE EX SAINTS - AUGUST 2009
Part owner and former Southampton winger John Sydenham visits superstar Archers Road for the first time, all the way from Australia. Fellow Ex Saints include Brian "Buddha" O'Neill and Denis Hollywood as the fan club continued to grow.
THE TEAM - APRIL 2009
Optimism abounds as the 2009 season beckons with the jockeys daring to sit on the two year olds at last, whilst Youmzain looks utterly bored by all the hype.
MICK, HEN AND TERRY - THE JUMPS GAME - NOVEMBER 2008
With the yearlings broken, at this time every year Mick tries to reinvent himself as a National Hunt trainer. Many thanks must go to Hen and Terry for indulging him on their schooling ground at West Lockinge, whilst the results of this experiment weren't exactly scintillating.
THE TEAM - APRIL 2008
More faces, even a farrier gets in this one. Youmzain sticks his tongue out and MRC shows his kinder side in the office with Granddaughter Evie.
RUN FOR SARAH
Our former Secretary Sarah Magee passed away in August 2007 after a long battle against cancer. She was 32. Please help us to raise money for The Sobell House Hospice that cared for Sarah in her final months.
NATALIE SHAVES HER HEAD - SOBELL HOUSE
No, not in tribute to The Boss, but as a fundraiser for Sobell House and the Run For Sarah campaign. The lady must be mad. She will be shorn tonight in The Harrow.
THE CLOSE SHAVE
Natalie actually went through with her head shave and raised some fifteen hundred quid for Sobell House! We even had a whip round for a hat....
THE ILSLEY CHALLENGE CUP TWENTY20 CRICKET - OCTOBER 2007
Despite local rivalry reaching fever pitch as the West Ilsley team simmered after losing the trophy at football back in June, they got their chance to avenge that defeat and regain the Cup in an agricultural game of Twenty20 in October.
FRIENDSHIP
Mick talks to his friend and journalist Brian Cooney about his friendship with Alan Ball. He meant so much to so many people and his presence is sorely missed around West Ilsley. Alan's sense of fun and a hard earnt perspective on what really matters in life shouldn't be forgotten.
SUMMER FLOODING, 2007
As Europe sweltered, West Ilsley and most of the UK suffered horrendous floods. Here Mick sees his front lawn disappear under five feet of water.
THE ORIGINAL CREDITS
The original Credits video from the Summer of 2007. Some have moved on, some remain, and some just can't get away even if they wanted to.......
ALAN BALL - AUSTRALIA, CHRISTMAS 2006
Hopefully this will provide a glimpse of what it was like to be in Alan Ball's company. This video features Alan's flamboyant 'twin brother' Romario cooking up a "storm" Down Under and a taste of Bally in full swing later on. It was an evening spent drowning our sorrows with Freddie Flintoff after the disastrous 2006/2007 Ashes Series.
